Most manufacturers say that, the graphite gasket is more durable and it will last longer compared to the regular white gasket found at the mass merchants. Other Notes: This gasket, is the same gasket that Pacific Energy uses when they make their stoves. Close the door and let the gasket seal to the door. Then place the new gasket in the channel – make sure the two end of the gasket meet on the hinge side of the door.
Installation tips: Remove the old gasket and clean the channel on the door (using a wire brush works really well). There is no adhesive included thus we highly recommend that you purchase the Fireplace and Stove Gasket Cement as well.
